Terms
Terms of service
The plain terms for using Bear Aware. By joining the waitlist, creating an account, or using the service, you agree to what follows.
Last updated: 25 June 2026.
The service
Non-lethal bear protection
Bear Aware provides non-lethal deterrence and monitoring for land in bear country, across two services: Sentinel (active, hands-on response) and Watch (passive, always-on sensors and alerts).
The pledge
Non-lethal, every time
Our protection is non-lethal by design. Good for your land, fair to the bear. Do not use the service, or anything we provide, to harm wildlife.
Your account
Keep it secure and accurate
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials safe. Give us accurate property details so the system can do its job, and tell us if something changes.
Acceptable use
Use it for your own land
Use Bear Aware to protect property you own or steward, or have permission to monitor. Do not use it to surveil people unlawfully, to break the law, or to interfere with the service for others.
Early access
The product is still rolling out
Parts of Bear Aware are in early access and may change. The service is provided as-is, without warranties, while we build toward general availability. We will be straight with you about what is ready and what is not.
Liability
A reasonable limit
To the extent the law allows, Bear Aware LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits a liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms
We may update these terms as the product grows. If a change matters, we will say so. By continuing to use the service after an update, you accept the revised terms.
