How it works
One chain, end to end
Everything serves a single chain: detection to awareness to response to prevention. The north star is fewer worries, so the system observes, informs, and assists. It is not an alarm system and not a nuisance.
- 01
Detection
Cameras and sensors pick up activity on the perimeter and score how sure the system is.
- 02
Awareness
The right person hears the right thing at the right moment, with a snapshot. Not noise.
- 03
Response
Lights, sound, and water step in as activity moves closer. Hands-on response when you want it.
- 04
Prevention
Every event is logged. Over time the land's patterns become foresight, not hindsight.
Zones
Awareness mapped to your land
You divide the property into zones on a map. Observation is awareness only. Awareness sends a snapshot and a notification. Deterrence triggers lights, sound, and water. Occupied raises everything when people are outside. The same visitor, an animal or a person, gets a different response depending on where it is.
Escalation
It only gets loud when it should
An event climbs a five-step ladder as confidence and proximity rise: observe, notify, deter, escalate, emergency. Most nights never leave the first step. Confidence scoring means the system tracks a low-certainty blur rather than waking you over it.
FAQ
Common questions
- Is Bear Aware lethal to bears?
- No. Protection is non-lethal every time. Deterrence uses lights, sound, and motion sprinklers, and a trained person moves an animal off the property without harming it. It is good for your land and fair to the bear.
- What does Bear Aware watch for besides bears?
- The same system watches the whole property: predators like coyotes and bobcats, wildlife that crosses your land, unknown people and vehicles at the gate, and the people and pets in your yard. Bears are where we started; the engine covers everything else that crosses the perimeter.
- What is the difference between Watch and Sentinel?
- Watch is passive, always-on monitoring: cameras and sensors detect activity, score it, notify the right person, and trigger automated non-lethal deterrence while you sleep. Sentinel is active, hands-on service: attractant audits, professional installation, and a trained person responding on the ground in daylight. Complete is both.
- What are GeoFence Zones?
- You draw zones on a map of your land, and the same detection produces a different response depending on where it happens. Observation is awareness only, awareness sends a snapshot and a notification, deterrence triggers lights and sound, and occupied raises everything when people are outside.
- Does Bear Aware keep working if the internet goes down?
- Yes. Detection and deterrence run locally on the property, so losing internet does not disable local protection. The cloud adds the durable event record, analytics, and the people you choose to alert.
