Watch · bring your own cameras
Will your cameras work?
You may not need to buy a single camera. Bear Aware can watch your land through cameras you already own, as long as they give a standard local video stream. Check yours below.
Enter your camera above and we will tell you, on the spot, how it works with Watch.
The honest version
What works, and what does not
Works
Wired cameras that expose a local ONVIF or RTSP stream: Reolink and Amcrest PoE, UniFi Protect, Axis, and most security-style IP cameras. These feed the detection pipeline directly.
Will not
Cloud-only cameras: Ring, Nest, Blink, and Arlo. They lock video to the maker's app with no local stream, so no third party can run real detection on them. Keep them for the front door and add one supported camera where it counts.
One thing stays true either way: detection runs on a small edge hub on your property, so your video is processed locally and keeps working even if the internet drops. Bringing your own cameras removes the camera cost, not the hub.
